Goals and Objectives

Target population: High School students.

Goal: Identify the causes of cancer.

By the end of this lesson the student will be able to:

Objective 1. List three causes of cancer that may be affected by one's lifestyle.

Objective 2. State the percentage of cancer mutations that are inherited.

Objective 3. State how the incidence of lung cancer in women parallels to that of men.

Objective 4. List the three major categories of gene types.

Objective 5. Report on diet factors that may lead to cancer.

Common Misconceptions

Men are more likely to develop cancer from smoking than women.
