Estrogen has links with breast cancer.

This lesson will introduce students to the concept that estrogen is linked to some types of breast cancer, and how that may influence treatment and diagnosis of the breast cancer.



Goals and Objectives 1. Students will be introduced to the Hallmarks of Cancer. 2. Students will see that their can be genes that are linked with breast cancer. 3. Students will see that their seems to be a familial link with breast cancer in some families. 4. Students will see the role estrogen plays with some types of breast cancer. 5. Students will look at how diagnosis and treatments for this type of cancer are decided. 6. Students will look at the ethical and personal issues involved with knowing one has a gene that can determine onset of breast cancer
