Goals and Objectives
Students should be able:
* understand cell growth and cell division (cell cycle) * recognize basics of cell membrane and its functions * understand chemical nature of plant metabolites * explain basics of enzyme functions * list causes of cancer and suggest some preventions
Common Misconceptions
Plant products cause no harm. Most cancers are inherited. Only few things cause cancer. Cancer is the disease of elderly.
Power of Phytochemicals
Preparation Before class:
Basic knowledge structure and function of DNA, transcription, translation, 3-D protein molecules, immune system, cell membrane structure and function, knowledge of regional statistics about cancer, and understanding of nutritional preventing measures
